Bios:

  • Carter Scott started practicing yoga in 1995 and found his passion for teaching in 2007 after making his first feature documentary film "ONE". When making this movie, he spent three years with some of the world's greatest spiritual teachers, authors and icons such as Deepak Chopra, Robert Thurman, RamDas and Thich Nhat Hanh to name a few. Their insight, teaching and inspiration gave him a new voice. He has taken this experience and infused it with traditional asana allowing space for self exploration and focusing on body awareness. He teaches a variety of styles ranging from hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative. A Michigan native, artist, writer and an independent filmmaker Carter has made Ann Arbor his home since 2012.

  • Joni Friedkin always encourages her students to try something new or different, find their edge, and let go of whatever did or did not happen on the mat. After all, yoga is a lifelong practice. Students can expect an energizing vinyasa flow, connecting breath to movement, building up to static holds and balancing postures that build strength and calm the mind. In other words: a yoga class that's playful, not too serious (laughing is totally cool) and includes a really good playlist.

  • Gretchen Meyers became a NASM personal trainer just under 15 years ago. She also has certifications in Sports Specific and Orthopedic exercise specializations, Pre and Post Natal exercise, MMA conditioning, and ACE Mind Body Specializations. She has taken two TRX qualifying courses in general and functional fitness and is Kettlebell certified through both NETA and Kettlebell Kings. She teaches a strength & mobility class at Bløm.

  • Lisa McClees took up yoga in 2008, discovering that it alleviated both back pain and stress. Not only did it make her feel better and get her through the day, but it soon become a passion. She was always promoting yoga’s benefits to others who brought it up, and soon she recognized that her passion for practicing yoga included a passion to teach it. Completing her 200-hour teacher training in November 2017 through a Yoga Alliance certified school, her goals as a teacher are to help people strengthen their bodies and minds so they can keep doing the things they love and start doing things they never thought they could.

  • Kate Wilhelmi loves the holistic way yoga reaches the mind, body, and spirit. Through grounding in the breath and moving with the breath in dance-like vinyasa flows, students are able to get lost in a moving meditation and focus on the present moment. Students of all yoga experiences and backgrounds can find balance, challenge, and fun in classes with upbeat, motivating music and community-building.

  • Bailey Reale fell in love with yoga as a way to get out of her head and into her body. She likes to create a challenging, fun, and down-to-earth atmosphere in her classes, paired with mindfulness and a focus on the breath. Placing an importance on the transitions between poses, Bailey enjoys guiding students through flows that help bring body awareness, patience, and strength - tools that can be used on and off the mat.

  • Chelsea Hohn teaches alignment based yoga and supports her students to push their own boundaries. She blends a love of anatomy and fluid motion to create safe and often challenging sequences, and her teaching style encourages students to cultivate a strong mind-body connection. She currently lives in Ann Arbor where she can usually be found somewhere in the woods, or working on her flower farm.
