Michigan's Hard Cideries

Michigan has long been an apple producing agricultural powerhouse, but that hasn’t always translated into diverse hard ciders. The hard cider industry nearly disappeared after Prohibition and has been slowly gaining speed as consumers, prompted by the craft beer movement, began seeking out local ciders. At Bløm, we source all of our ingredients from Michigan farmers and producers, and we focus on dry sessionable meads and ciders. At the time of writing, we have on our dry Tart Cider, an off dry Hopricot Cider with Michigan-grown apricots and hops, and an Absinthe Botanical Cider, made with spent botanicals from Ann Arbor Distilling Company’s absinthe distillation.

Bløm’s cider selection often changes because of local ingredients going in and out of season, but they’re sure to have a flavor—ranging from sweet to tart and herbal to hoppy—for everyone.
